This hands-on, applied training will give you the tools, language, and structure to function effectively as a business architect. The Business Architecture training will focus on a central case that allows you to reflect on everything you learn, demonstrating how business architecture delivers value from different angles.

- Apply foundational BA frameworks and understand how models like business capability maps, value streams, and roadmaps fit together.
- Apply relevant techniques to simplify complexity, build trust, and ensure that your messages stick with stakeholders.
- Make decisions and communicate guidelines using the basics of capability-based management.
- Analyze and design organizational configurations using business modeling techniques like Business Model Canvas.
- Translate stakeholder needs into value-oriented solutions using visual techniques like value chains, streams, and process mapping.
- Create business architecture roadmaps that plot the path from current state to strategic goals in a clear, actionable way.

Module 1: Foundations of business architecture
- Understand what business architecture is, what it’s for, and why it matters.
- Explore common myths and misunderstandings, and learn how to overcome them.
- Learn the role and responsibilities of a business architect and how it differs from other architectural roles.
- Develop storytelling skills to influence and engage your stakeholders, leading to actual results and decisions.
Module 2: Framework, models & tools
- Understand the structure of a business architecture framework and its components.
- Learn how to use the Business Model Canvas in a BA context.
- Explore how BA models relate to each other.
- Identify BA tools and understand how to promote BA in an organization.
Module 3: Capability-based management
- Understand what a business capability is and know how it’s used to structure strategic discussions.
- Learn how to create capability maps and apply various analytical techniques.
- Learn how to use different overlays and modeling views, such as heatmaps.
- Use capabilities as a bridge between strategic intent and operational reality.
Module 4: Value streams, roadmapping & business transformation
- Understand the differences between value chains, value streams, and processes, and know when to use each.
- Learn how to structure and visualize transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on application of roadmapping techniques to guide performance evolution and capability-based planning.
Self-paced learning + interactive sessions
Self-paced learning on our online platform covers basic concepts and more theoretical content.
For the Application and Integration Architecture training program, the self-paced learning period begins two weeks before the first of 4 interactive sessions. The timing allows you to prepare for each 4-hour training day at your own pace.
During the interactive sessions, either online or in-person, we will dive deeper into specific topics and solve hands-on cases and exercises, making the most of your time with our experts.
